What is it?

Following childbirth or the menopause, many women find that the shape and tone of their vaginal tissue and labia can change significantly. This can cause discomfort and unhappiness which is why many women are now seeking surgical intervention.

How is it done?

There are several procedures that can be carried out either under general anesthetic which requires an overnight stay or under local anesthetic with sedation as a day case.

Recovery

For 48 hours after the operation, you will need to rest. From day 3, you will be able to resume normal life avoiding tiring activities. After 7 – 10 days you will be able to return to work (as long as it is not excessively tiring). From week 3, you can be back to all normal activities including sport.
