Ageing (including age spots)
Although we can’t turn back the clock, at the Marylebone Clinic, we offer our patients, the very latest and most advanced techniques for treating mature skin in order to reduce the impact of ageing and restore vitality to the skin.
Using a combination of treatments that can include laser / photodydamic therapy, chemical peels and fillers we treat lines and wrinkles, sun damaged skin, sun and age spots, spider veins and in some cases even actinic keratosis – pre-cancerous lesions which develop due to sun damage.
With ageing following years of sun exposure and environmental damage, the skin on the hands can become thin and dry and often there is an evident loss of subcutaneous tissue. Sometimes, solar lentigo and pre-cancerous lesions can develop on the dorsa of the hands.
In the case of pre-cancerous lesions, these can be treated with specific medications and in some cases with photodynamic therapy. Solar lentigo responds well to medium chemical peels or Q-switched lasers in 1 to 3 sessions.
The overall appearance and texture of the skin can be significantly improved through chemical peels. Also effective is hyaluronic acid (mesotherapy) link to the section which can be injected into the dermis to restore turgidity to the skin.
